September 8 is a very special day in the Catholic church. It is the feast of the
Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary**. My kiddos have such a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Every morning during our prayer time, they pray for 'Holy Mary.' The first prayers they learned was the
Hail Mary. They adore the
Rosary. They love her! So, this year, we are making it incredibly special with a few extras. . .
First on the agenda were birthday cards for her. The children will lay these in the Blessed Mother Grotto tomorrow after morning Mass. . . Or we might attempt to mail to heaven!

Wesley just colored his! |
|
"Happy Mappy Mary" and "I love you" |

It it a picture of 'all sorts of stuff!' |
|
"I love you. Robert" And a picture of him and Her. |

"Happy Birthday Holy Mary"
I wonder what the mailman will think?!? |
Then, for after nap, we have a surprise. . .
|
I think they will love it! |
But all the kiddos know is that they have cake!
|
Happy Birthday, Holy Mary! |
I am SO excited about tomorrow. I am also going to make blue pasta for lunch, since blue is the color of the Blessed Mother. Just lots of little things here and there! I feel like a kiddo waiting for Santa! This will be great for all of us!
**We are Catholic. This is the very center of our foundation as a family. While we understand and accept that some might not hold the same beliefs and understanding of the Catholic faith, we as a family are proud of our Catholic faith. We honor Mary for the integral part she played in bringing our Lord, Jesus Christ into our humanly world. While we honor Mary, we worship Jesus. If you have different views, we respect that. Please respect ours. **
I love it!!
