M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I (Day 6)

Off To The Casinos We Go. . .
December 1, 2011

What a day today! It started out with an absolutely exhausted mommy and ended in the same way! It was so bad that I could hardly keep my eyes open ALL day for more than 5 minutes. . . It was terrible!

Anyhow, we had a lazy morning and met a friend of ours, Sharla Bachelder, for lunch at Cock-of-the-Walk. The kiddos loved sitting by the reservoir and watching the boats. Hannah and Wesley LOVED the food, while Little Robert loved his yogart. . . the life of a picky eater! Robert and I enjoyed catching up with our dear friend! Thank you for this special treat, Sharla!

After lunch, we came home and put Wesley down for a nap while the older two went outside with Grammie and Aunt LaLa. While they were distracted, Daddy and I grabbed our bags and went off to Vicksburg for a night away!

We first met up with Papa at his office there in Vicksburg, and he gave us some ideas of what to do (He had also arranged for the Casino to comp us a suite!). We left his office and went over to the casino to check in and drop our stuff off before heading back into the historic area to shop and eat dinner. There was only 1 store open when we got there, but boy was it cute!

We went back to our room after dinner and I wanted to lay down as I was still exhausted. What was meant to be a simple, quick nap, turned into a 2 hour deep sleep! After I woke, we went on into the casino, each of us with $20 in hand. I was carded on the way in, which I loved :-) We played until we each had very little left, knowing that the rule is we do NOT go away empty handed - Robert cashed out at $.05 and when I had a few dollars left, something happened and all of the sudden, I had $36! So, we only lost $3.95 at the casino!

When we returned to the room, there was a huge fruit plate waiting for us! I am guessing that it came with the suite! The pineapple and melon was delicious! Robert and I sat on the balcony, drank some coffee, ate some fruit, and watched the river traffic go by. It was so incredibly calm and peaceful. . . once again, before I knew it, I was beyond exhausted again and slept for 11 hours straight. . . and I am sure that I could have slept for longer!

It was a great day, especially since I can not remember the last time that Robert and I had that much quality time and fun together. . . without worry for the kiddos! Thank you, Grammie, Papa, Aunt RaRa, Aunt LaLa, Uncle Michael, Aunt MooMoo, and Uncle JoJo for this treat!
