M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I (Day 7)

Theater, Lights, and Surprises, Oh My!
December 2, 2011

What a day today was! While Robert and I were at the casino, Papa took Robert, Hannah, and Wesley to see Uncle Bret in Annie at New Stage Theater. There, they met up with Aunt Mollie and Uncle JoJo as St. Joe was there on a field trip. From what I hear, all LOVED it! Kuddos to you, Uncle Bret!

Daddy and I came back to the house after stopping at Raising Canes for some lunch. We arrived shortly before Papa came home with the kiddos. Everyone ate their lunch, and then it was off for naps - Wesley laid down in the crib, while Hannah and I snuggled in Grammie/Papa's bed (even with all of the sleep the night prior, I needed a nap!) and Daddy and Little Robert snuggled in the recliner. It was a great little sleep.

When we woke up, we all played outside with Aunt Mollie, Uncle JoJo, and eventually Uncle Michael. Everyone, including Uncle Michael's dog Jazz had a great time. While we were busy doing this, Papa was cleaning inside. . . even though I had vacuumed and mopped the day prior, but I just put it off as him being a bit OCD. Before too long, Papa went and bought some pizzas and other things from the store. While he was gone, Daddy and I decided to take the kiddos to Canton to see the Christmas lights at the square. Papa came home, we cooked/ate pizza, and were off.

The kiddos LOVED seeing the lights around the square! There were trains, horse drawn carriages, even Santa! It was great watching the kiddos eyes light up as they saw all of this for the first time - It made Daddy and I decide that a trip to St. Augustine is needed so that they could see all of the lights there!

When we got back to Mama/Papa's house, I was ready to get the kiddos in bed. I saw some cars out front, but when we walked through the front door, there was no one to be seen! I set my purse down and began to get the kiddos to the back when out of the breakfast room came Papa, Uncle Michael, Aunt LaLa and Uncle Will, Aunt Mollie, Uncle JoJo, Mama Cranston, my very dear friend Jordan, and Jose screaming SURPRISE! Yes my birthday was the day before, but I was honestly fine with it going unnoticed! I was thrilled with this. It meant so much as this was my first birthday since we moved to Fl over 6 years ago. . . What a special treat!

Everybody was so generous - Papa made me an angel out of the old fence posts in our backyard, Mama gave me some turquoise earrings, Michael, Mollie, and JoJo gave me some bath gel and lotion that smells incredible, Clare and Will gave me foot pampering goodies, Jordan and her family gave me a beautiful MS Rosary, Mama Cranston gave me a ceramic Christmas plate that she made. It was incredible. We then sang Happy Birthday and cut the cake, when yet another surprise happened. . .

My good friend from high school/college, Nicole and her mom, Mrs. Marquez, came! She was in a terrible accident 3 1/2 years ago where she fell 6 stories outside of her apartment building in NYC. She broke her neck, back, pelvis, ribs, and punctured a lung - things were bad. She was not supposed to walk again, but here she is walking and talking on her own! It did my heart such good to see her. To talk to her. To hug her!

It was a great evening spent with family and friends. It was a great ending to an incredible trip! So, thank you Mama, Papa, and all that played a part in making this day SO incredible - It truly means more than I can express. xo
